Monday Love (on a Tuesday)

Good morning to you! How was your long weekend?

We did lots of chilling, went for walks, wandered around pretty Oakham, visited Rutland Water and went for Sunday lunch.

We had my Uncle + Aunt to stay who are the perfect guests; easy going, relaxed, joyfully unfussy with food and happy to go with the flow. It was nice to know we didn’t have to arrange a full itinerary of activities or entertain them to any great lengths. Phew.

I made Ottolenghi’s Grilled Vegetable Soup for supper on Saturday followed by some of our favourite Melton Mowbray sausages from Dickinson & Morris. They are so good!

Yesterday we hit the shops (our guests safely waved off home to London) to purchase newborn baby clothes and gifts as our very good friends have just welcome a little boy into the world, Thomas William Arthur. Awww!

So, onto my list of Monday Love for you… (on a Tuesday, bank hol’s n’ all):

  • Inspired by the writings of Leo Babauta, I’ve set myself an easy goal to bike outdoors for 15 minutes every day. I need to create a fitness habit to knock me into shape -after many months of putting exercise at about No. 152 on my to do list! Bad Celia!
  • This Hut Pendant Light is so cute! Another one for the Love Light collection.
  • Lately I’ve been told off for being too absorbed in technology (by pretty much everyone close to me). I’m forever figuring out how to keep technology from taking over my life whilst still maintaining online connections – a tricky balance to master, even for (and especially for) a techie!
  • Put the internet to work for you with IFFTT – my current favourite web tool and a dream come true for anyone who likes to get stuff organised.
  • My office needs a serious ‘back to school’ tidy up for the autumn. I need to take a trip to IKEA and get everything into neat boxes on shelves. These simple Decluttering Tips from A Beautiful Mess planted the seed, now I need to take action!
  • It will come as zero surprise that I love finding new keepsake/memory sharing tech. I’m really looking forward to trying out Evergram when I get my invite through…

Have a wonderful 4-day week and enjoy the last few days of August – fingers crossed for summery weather and not more of this crazy rain!

Celia x
